Cyd Jupe - Ceramic Sculptor

I am a ceramic sculptor living near Helston, West Cornwall

I studied Jewellery Design and Silversmithing at Leicester Polytechnic, and after living in London for a decade escaped to West Cornwall 25 years ago.

I now concentrate on figurative ceramic sculpture and in particular animals and human heads.

I work exclusively with stoneware crank, and use a mix of red-iron oxide and simple underglazes to finish the pieces.

My work is frequently most at home when outdoors embracing the elements and growing a patina of lichen.
